#3 The teacher will demonstrate the ability to plan and evaluate materials that are appropriate for instruction.
In the case that Greek mythology is the reading material for instruction, students will take a personality quiz that correlates to a mythological character with whom they share similarities and interests. The students will utlimately study this character in detail, write a five-paragraph character analysis, and create a project of some sort. Unfortunately, there is no strict, formalulaic way to match students to the characters from mythology. The teacher must instead know her students and how to interpret their responses on the personality quiz. The teacher must also know a lot about Greek mythology, as the wider her range of knowledge the more variation and specificity there become for her students. All in all, the artifact above, a hand-crafted personality inventory applied to mythological characters, was used to plan and evaluate the reading material appropriate for instruction. |
