T.A.P.P. Outcome(s): |
# 8 The teacher demontrates the skills needed to teach diverse populations. The shoes are a symbol for student diversity. The shoes are a visual representation of the students, vis-a-vis the shoe with which they may asscoiate, within the context of the larger human population. I use this chart when teaching multicultural consciousness through Cinderella stories told from the perspectives of different cultures from around the world. All have similar elements, such as some shoe that the protagonist loses, as well as merely superficial differences, such as in once culture a glass slipper and in another a golden sandal. |
