T.A.P.P. Outcome(s):
#1 The teacher demonstrates knowledge of the growth characteristics of children.
In addition to the pedagogical courses listed above, in college I also took electives in sociology and educational psychology, through which I gleaned much knowledge of the growth characteristics of children.

#2 The teacher demonstrates the knowledge-base needed to teach the discipline.
The terms under which I was admitted into the T.A.P.P. program insist I am a "highly qualified" because I majored in the subject I intended to teach. Not only did I meet the content-area knowledge requirements to be a Secondary English Teacher prior to my entry into a teacher certification program, it was the very reason I was excepted. As a side not, I also exceeded the number of required classes needed for my undergraduate major in English.

#4 The teacher demonstrates knowledge of the history and philosophy of education.
Throughout the course of my undergraduate and post-graduate study have included the history and philosophy of education. Among my favorite contributors to educational theory that I know of so far include Lev Vygotsky, Jean Piaget, Jerome Bruner, Paulo Friere, and Nel Noddings.
