#10 The teacher will demonstrate appropriate and effective interpersonal skills with students, teachers, parents and administrators. Nominating students who attend the National Young Leaders Conference creates a relationship between the teacher, the student, the parents, and the administrators. One of students I nominated attended the Spring 2008 Conference. When she returned she talked to me all about the agenda and activities and even brough me a key chain as a gift. Later during a Department Meating, the Principal thanked me for nominating the child personally as well as on her mother's behalf.

#13 The teacher demonstrates professionalism. I feel that the honor of being chosen as a teacher that gets to nominate students to attend a national youth conference in Washington, D.C. speaks to my status as a professional educator.
