Sometime in the early 1980s, Mary McFall, an Atlanta native and nurse about to get her Ph.D. in Education, meets Randy Hanzlick, a Polish Buckeye beginning his residency in Forensic Pathology at the local Medical Examinar's office. Daughter Cailtin is born July 30, 1984. Precious sister, Marinna, is born December 22, 1985. Caitlin and Marinna attend Christ the King from K-12, and both are actively involved in Gymnastics, Swimming and Tennis. In high school, Caitlin's interests shift from sports and socializing to school, creativity, and deep thinking. She wants to be a writer when she grows up. She reads a lot of books and watches a lot of movies. She also wants to be a teacher. Caitlin goes to Emory University and majors in English. She mostly liked Creative Writing and Art, and her all-time favorites were classes in Shakespeare, Milton, and Metaphysical Poetry taught by the great Rick Rambuss. Caitlin also took some graduate-level courses in the Division of Educational Studies. The fall after graduating from college, she got a job teaching Reading at Stone Mountain High School. She enrolled in the Teacher Alternative Preparation Program through Dekalb County, earning her professional certification while working full-time.
